Available is a newly restored vintage straight razor. Made in Germany, this piece from Essex Cutlery is both a great starter straight razor and a sharp looking blade! Not only This razor is a very fine example of just how personalized and custom straight razors used to be. The original owner, a Mr. John Guy of Portland, Ill. had the razor customized with images of his dogs, a piece of machinery and a K.O.T.M. logo - Knights of the Maccabees. Based on that faternal / life insurance organization, we date this razor to be from the 1910's. Custom scales such as this are not often seen and thus this razor has a bit more value and scarcity to it simply because of the scales.

Restoration: This razor went through our complete Revamp service. It was first polished, removing all active rust and as much metal as was safe for this grind. The blade then went through our True Honing process, utilizing stones such as a Naniwa Chosera 10k, Belgian Yellow Coticule and Shapton 30k to give this straight razor the perfect edge. It arrives to you stropped and shave ready.
