1950's Gillette Light Duty Aluminum Rocket Safety Razor | Made in England

A sought after razor indeed- the British Light Duty Rocket! Great overall condition on this razor with nothing bent or broken and great mechanical condition. For those who have not seen how a Rocket razor works, the TTO functions in a unique way by having the knob turn up into the handle. This TTO feels higher quality then its American counterparts!

A rarer razor to find in the US, and definitely not common over seas. This razor weighs 1.2oz exactly, 34 grams. Tray reads Patent Pending.

As you can see the doors, tbar, and end caps are not plated. This razor comes to us from a Gillette collector in California, this razor was received from the Gillette Factory in the UK. No commercial packaging was included, only hand written tags referring to plating. We believe these razors were testers for plating and metalurgy.

History: The Gillette Rocket came on the scene in the late 1940's and ran through continuous production into the 1980's. The Rocket was the British equivelant of the American Super Speed - named for how fast your shaves would be using this TTO model.
