This is a beautiful straight razor here, a 5/8" Hollow Ground Red Imp made by Case in the USA! With beautiful horn scales, this razor is dressed to impress. The quality of Case steel is known to be of the highest grade, don't let this gem slip away!
Case originated in Little Valley NY around the turn of the century. In 1905 it moved to it's current home in Bradford Pennsylvania. Case has long been a name associated with quality cutlery, and the knives the company makes are highly collected. The Case collectors club has more than 18000 members today, a practice that started in the late 20th century when Case started a unique method of date stamping the tangs. The Red Imp was made by a number of manufacturers, and each one made a great shaver, but the imps produced by Case are certainly the most sought after.

"Honing starts out on a Chosera 1000 Wet stone were I begin to set the bevel. Once the bevel outline is finished I move onto the Chosera 3000 where the bevel is cleaned up and refined. Next its on to the polishing stage which starts out on the Aishyama 6000 and moves to the naniwa 12000. After the 12k, a perfectly good shave can occur. But we like to take it one step further and finish with a high polish on the Suehiro Gokumyo 20000." Eric, Razor Miester. After honing, the blade is stropped, oiled, and arrives shave ready! Please do not strop this razor before your first shave.
