A vintage chopper with a near wedge grind! At 6/8" this razor has a hefty weight and feels great in hand. I believe this is a French razor from the 1800s, but it would not surprise if it were manufactured in England for a French retailer at 198 Bertry. The blade has some pitting showing its rich age and the ebony wood scales add a unique touch. A perfect razor any collector, history buff, or shaver!

Country of Manufacture:
Grind: Near Wedge

Scales: Ebony Wood
Date: 1800's
Condition: Polished, Sharpened and Shave Ready
Grade: Good
Imperfections: Shows some age with pitting
Included: Razor only

Restoration Process:

The razor was disassembled. The blade and scales were cleaned and polished bringing a high mirror finish to the blade and restoring the original beauty of the wood scales! After being pinned back together the razor moved to our true honing process.

Honing Process:

Honing starts out on a Chosera 1000 Wet stone were I begin to set the bevel. Once the bevel outine is finished I move onto the Chosera 3000 where the bevel is cleaned up and refined. Next its on to the polishing stage which starts out on the Aishyama 6000 and moves to the naniwa 12000. After the 12k, a perfectly good shave can occur. But we like to take it one step further and finish with a high polish on the Suehiro Gokumyo 20000. After honing, the blade is stropped, oiled, and shave ready!
