9/16" H. Boker & Co. Pearl Straight Razor | Solingen, Germany
Available is a 9/16" H. Boker & Co. Pearl Straight Razor. Razor originates from Solingen, Germany home of the world-renowned straight razor craftsmen. Launched in 1774, H. Boker began marking razors with a tree in 1837. They are a very collectable brand and highly regarded in the wet shaving community. This is a full hollow grind razor, the blade is ground with a square tip, making it a less forgiving shaver, but more-so than a spike point. The scales are original, with gorgeous logo preserved! Black, simple, elegant, and in excellent condition. We rarely see the tang this preserved, Mother of Pearl shines beautifully! This would make a good starter straight razor for someone getting into wet-shaving, or a nice option for a seasoned veteran.
This straight razor makes for a great razor because of its size and comfortable shave provided. Razor has been restored, cleaned, and sanitized making it Shave Ready for your shaving pleasure. Ground with a hollow grind, this will plow down stubble with no trouble. Blade has a beautiful mirror finish, and has been highly buffed with only a minor amount of age stains from the past. This razor will deliver a lifetime's worth of smooth shaves, pick it up today!

Restoration: This razor went through our Straight Razor Restoration service. It was first polished to a near mirror finish, removing all active rust and as much metal as was safe for this grind. The scales were also polished to give a high luster. Honing starts out on a Chosera 1000 Wet stone where the bevel is set. Once the bevel outline is finished the razor proceeds to be honed with the Chosera 3000 where the bevel is cleaned up and refined. Next its on to the polishing stage showcasing the Aishyama 6000, then Naniwa 12000. After the 12k, a perfectly good shave can occur, but we like to take it one step further and finish with a high polish on the Suehiro Gokumyo 20000. After honing, the blade is stropped, oiled, and arrives shave ready! Please do not strop this razor before your first shave.
