This set includes the case from one of the most beautiful razor sets that Gillette ever produced - the Pocket Edition. The floral travel case has the original gold finish that is in superb shape for its age. Original Gillette blade bank also included in this gorgeous set. The razor which is included and pictured is from the later New Tech line manufactured in the 1930s. Though this is not the original razor which was featured in the floral set the Gillette gold tech razor fits inside the case perfectly. The Head and handle of the razor have been kept in excellent condition and polished and are shave ready.
This fantastic razor has been hand restored to bring out the original shine of the gold. The red interior fabric of the case is also in great shape!

History: The Gillette Old Type was the original razor head produced by Gillette Safety Razor Co. It featues open comb design with two stabilizer pins that keep the blade straight. These heads are known for their smooth yet aggressive shaves. These were the same model as featured in the WWI Khaki sets. The Pocket Edition series was designed to be a "barbershop in your pocket" and was one of the primary reasons why Gillette transformed the way that men around the world shaved. It empowered men to shave themselves and leave the barbershops for the comfort and skill of their own home and hand.
